The core challenge was implementing a complex, multi-dimensional longitudinal survey, which requires not only accurate initial data collection but also robust systems for tracking 3,000 households for future waves. Collecting sensitive health data from an elderly population added another layer of complexity.
Sigma utilized advanced CAPI tools with built-in consistency checks and employed specially trained interviewers skilled in building rapport with elderly respondents to ensure high-quality, reliable data collection.
The data collected by Sigma for LASI in Bihar contributed to a nationally representative panel dataset that provides the scientific evidence base for developing policies and programs for the elderly in India.
Successfully executing our part in LASI demonstrated Sigma's ability to handle scientifically rigorous longitudinal studies, requiring meticulous fieldwork and a deep understanding of complex social research protocols.
